Antique Cabinet Card Women Sledding Toboggan Winter Snow Painted Backdrop Prop

This antique cabinet card captures two women posed for a winter sledding adventure. They sit atop a sturdy wooden toboggan, dressed in heavy Victorian-era wool coats and hats, perfectly staged against a whimsical painted backdrop. The studio artist has rendered a snowy landscape behind them, creating a charming contrast between the realistic subjects and the stylized, frozen scenery.

Collectors of late 19th-century photography will appreciate this unique prop-heavy composition. It serves as a fascinating look at how studio photographers simulated the thrill of outdoor snow sports during the 1890s. This cabinet card is a quintessential piece of winter Americana.
