This listing includes a dried/preserved monarch butterfly specimen accompanied by a handwritten envelope/ephemera piece. The back of the envelope is inscribed: 'Brother Charley sent me this Butterfly from overseas, 1945.'
The butterfly is detached/damaged, with one wing separated from the body and general fragility consistent with aged dried insect specimens. The envelope shows postal markings from 1992 (US 29c stamp), age wear, and handwriting.
Shipped in a plastic toploader in a cardboard mailer.
