Antique CDV E T Kelley Man Chin Beard Oval Mat Somerville
This antique CDV features a distinguished man posing with a notable chin beard, captured in a crisp studio portrait. The subject is framed within an elegant oval mat, a popular presentation style that emphasizes the formal composure of the gentleman.
The photographer, E T Kelley, operated out of Somerville, marking this as a local historical artifact from the late 19th century. Collectors of regional Massachusetts ephemera or Victorian-era portraiture will value the clear composition and the specific aesthetic of the Somerville studio.
This portrait remains a fascinating study of period fashion and mid-to-late 1800s grooming trends.
