Antique CDV Two Young Girls Sisters Full Skirt Dresses Ghost Image
This antique CDV features two young girls, likely sisters, posed with the formal elegance characteristic of mid-Victorian portraiture. They are captured wearing voluminous full skirt dresses that define the fashion of the era, standing side-by-side in a somber studio setting.
A faint, haunting ghost image effect lingers over the frame, adding a layer of ethereal mystery to the composition. This piece is a captivating find for those who collect 1860s photography, specifically exploring the technical imperfections and atmospheric charm of early cartes de visite.
These sisters remain a haunting, beautifully preserved glimpse into a bygone age.
