This is a vintage First Day Cover (FDC) commemorating the dedication of Everglades National Park in Florida. The cover features a detailed cachet illustrating the 'Home of the Seminole Indians' with a village scene, along with depictions of a heron and an alligator.
It is postmarked from Florida City, Florida, on December 5, 1947, at 9 AM. The 3-cent green Everglades National Park stamp is cancelled with a 'First Day of Issue' machine cancel.
The envelope is addressed to Westwood, New Jersey. It shows some age-related toning and foxing, particularly on the reverse side, as visible in the photos. Overall, it is a nice piece of Florida postal history.
