1886 Reading PA to Birdsborough PA Postal History Cover 2c Washington Stamp

This is a vintage 19th-century postal cover (envelope) mailed from Reading, Pennsylvania, to Birdsborough, Pennsylvania. The front features a clear circular date stamp (CDS) from Reading, PA, dated February 19, 1886, at 3 PM.

The envelope is franked with a 2-cent red-brown stamp featuring George Washington, which has been cancelled with a horizontal bar killer. It is addressed in elegant period cursive to Miss Olive Hart in Birdsborough, Berks County, Penna.

The envelope is a light aqua or seafoam green color. It shows typical signs of age, including minor edge wear and light toning, but remains in good condition for a piece of postal history over 135 years old. The reverse side is plain with a small pencil notation in the corner.
