From the listing
This is a unique vintage handwritten letter dated April 25, 1951. It is written on "Guardián del Pacífico" Correo Aereo (Air Mail) stationery, featuring a charming red airplane graphic. The letter was written by a man named George while staying at the Hotel Junin in La Oroya, Peru.
The letter is addressed to "Howard and Fanny" and contains personal family news. George mentions receiving an announcement about "Julie Ann" and discusses other family members like "Kim." He notes that he is enclosing a check for the little girl to buy shoes and explains he is mailing it to "Grandad's house" because he lost their current address.
The paper is in good vintage condition with natural yellowing consistent with its age. There are visible fold lines from when it was originally mailed. The ink is clear and legible. This is a wonderful piece of social history and ephemera from mid-century Peru.
